Yield: 8 cups
Ingredients:
1 LB unsalted roasted peanuts
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon of baking powder
2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Instructions:
Keep 2 cookie sheets on the counter to spread sweet peanuts after done.
Add all the ingredients in a large pan, as it creates a lot of foam.
Cook over medium heat, mixing with a wood spoon every 3 - 5 minutes.
When it starts to dry out, mix without stopping until you can see the bottom of the pan.
Spread the sweet peanuts on the cookie sheets.
Wait to cool down completely and store in an airtight container.

This party happens in the month of June, and it is a catholic tradition brought to Brazil from Portugal. Also, sweet peanuts are sold on the streets. The vendor has a cart (like the popcorn one) where he pushes it around, making fresh sweet peanuts, packing them up and sells them to the pedestrians.
